Using Biomass Waste
Biomass contains stored, potential energy from the sun. The energy we need has already been provided to us within the plant and awaits our harvesting.
Unlike fossil fuels, biomass is a renewable energy resource and potentially endless in supply. Biomass is plentiful; just take a look outside. The irony is that a large part is already designated as waste by our communities and sits rotting in overburdened landfills across our nation.
Unlike fossil crude oil which is present and only recoverable in certain geographical areas, biomass is available in every state of the union.
Biomass is part of the carbon cycle. Carbon from the atmosphere is converted into biological matter through a series of chemical reactions known as photosynthesis.
